Serena Release Vault provides a common and secure path to production for all application changes, regardless of development platform, and ensures that only approved and validated code reaches the production environment. Serena Release Vault is one component of the Serena Release Manager solution for application release management; it supports both mainframe (Serena ChangeMan ZMF) and distributed development (Serena Dimensions CM) solutions.

Most IT organizations have multiple development environments and use different software development solutions for each environment. Usually, each development environment has its own path to production with different testing stages, which leads to unequal code quality control and application quality issues. It also increases the cost and risk of application release management.

Serena Dimensions CM and Dimensions Deploy support both distributed (Linux, UNIX, Windows) and mainframe platforms with a unified deployment process and policy. From a single user interface, you can manage deployment to all servers, including deployments that simultaneously release code to both mainframe and distributed systems.

Serena ChangeMan ZMF provides comprehensive, out-of-the-box release management capabilities for the mainframe. If you have complex and massive software release management processes, the Enterprise Release Option (ERO) simplifies maintaining high volumes of changes and multiple simultaneous releases by consolidating migration paths into an integrated environment.
